My research intersts

I am a polar oceanographer, focusing on ocean flows at high latitudes. I am particularly interested in the role of the ocean in melting ice around Antarctica and Greenland. Studying ocean-ice interactions is essential if we hope to project future sea level. My current work focuses on modeling how icebergs decay into the ocean. A few of my research interests are listed below

Ice shelf cavity circulation

I am interested in the circulation beneath the large Antarctic iceshelves.

Three modes of ice shelf melting

I am interested in how the ciculation results in melting beneath the ice shelves, and in ocean-ice interactions in general.

Aeolian sand ripple formation

Also a little interested in how wind driven sand ripples form.

Sea level rise

Much of my interst in ocean-ice interactions is motivated by wanting to project future sea level.
